How to ensure security within the app

One of the trends in cyber security that we regularly hear about is 'security within the app'. More and more often (but also very often not yet) 'security' is stated in the specifications that new apps/sites/etc. to be developed must meet. Developers are more and more becoming part of your cyber security. But where to start?

Cybersecurity ingrained?

The OWASP Foundation keeps a close eye on developments in cyber security. For example, they maintain a Top 10 of 'vulnerabilities'. In collaboration with ZeroDayLab, Global Knowledge is now bringing Security for Developers; an assessment/elearning combination which allows developers to arm themselves against the top 10 vulnerabilities. By starting with an assessment, developers can then focus on how they can make their (new) apps less vulnerable. Apart from the reduced risk of cybercrime, you will probably benefit from considerable savings during testing (money and time). Although this solution is mainly self-paced, as a manager you can help your developers fill skill gaps quickly.  The solution offers detailed reporting in which the skills gaps of the team members, and the improvements and points of attention, are clearly visible.
